MEDICAL DOCTOR AND ACCOMPLICES SENTENCED FOR STEALING HOSPITAL BEDS

In a recent legal development, the State High Court in Eket, Akwa Ibom, has handed down sentences in a case involving the theft of hospital beds.
The court sentenced Dr. Nwaopara Adolphus Uche, a 39-year-old medical doctor and the Medical Superintendent of Immanuel Psychiatric Hospital, to two years in prison.
Dr. Uche was found guilty of stealing hospital beds from Immanuel General Hospital and Immanuel Psychiatric Hospital, which he subsequently used in his private clinic.
Joining him in conviction, Kubiat Anthony Isidore, a 28-year-old welder, received a one-year prison sentence for his involvement in the conspiracy.
Furthermore, Felix Samuel Ekwere, a security guard at Immanuel General Hospital, was sentenced to one year in prison after confessing to his role in moving the stolen beds out of the hospital. He revealed that Dr. Uche had instructed him to do so.
