Pharm. Gafar Olanrewaju Madehin: Relentless Pursuit of Leadership Impact

Pharm Madehin, who has already served as the National Treasurer of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) for the past three years, has decided to run for the post of National Secretary, driven by his deep commitment to contributing more effectively to the profession. He is confidence in his capacity to continue making valuable contributions through efficient management of the National Secretariat.
Pharm Gafar Olanrewaju Madehin, a dedicated member of the PSN, has officially announced his intention to contest for the position of National Secretary in the upcoming 96th Annual National Conference. The conference is scheduled to take place in Gombe from October 30 to November 4, 2023.
Throughout his career, Madehin has demonstrated his capacity for adding value to the profession. Notably, during his tenure as the National Treasurer of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) from 2015 to 2018, his advice and strategic contributions played a pivotal role in the acquisition of a suitable property in Ikeja, which now serves as the ACPN’s National Secretariat.
In his current role as the National Treasurer of PSN, he has exemplified a strong team spirit and collaboration. He has worked closely with other members of the National Executive Council to support the President in the successful implementation of various programs for the profession.
Madehin brings a wealth of experience, both from his previous roles and his academic qualifications, which includes a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). He is confident in his ability to effectively manage the National Secretariat, making its human and material resources more accessible to PSN’s national financial members and partners.
With past positions such as General Secretary of PSN Lagos State branch (2014-2017) and National Secretary of the Healthcare Providers Association of Nigeria (2014-2018), Pharm. Madehin has the practical experience and academic knowledge required for this role.
He also emphasises his accessibility, dependability, and commitment to contributing to the advancement of the pharmacy profession within his capacity.
Mr. Madehin’s certification as a Cooperative Professional in Nigeria, as a Fellow of the Institute of Cooperative Professionals of Nigeria (FICP), underscores his ability to facilitate the formation and registration of several Cooperative Societies within the pharmacy ecosystem, a valuable tool for the economic empowerment of pharmacists.
Mr. Madehin seeks the support and votes of his colleagues as he aspires to become the next National Secretary of the PSN. He envisions a collaborative effort in building the pharmacy profession of their dreams in Nigeria.
