Dr. Faith Ogechi Iriferi Achieves Top Honors in Point of Care Testing Professional Diploma Certification

Faith Iriferi recently earned top honors in the Point of Care Testing Professional Diploma Certification conducted by the Global Masters Institute in collaboration with the Skill Development Council Canada.
Pharm. Faith Ogechi Iriferi, is a Doctor of Pharmacy graduate from the University of Benin, and a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists.
She has a strong background in pharmacy practice, including an internship at the Psychiatric Specialist Hospital in Uselu, Benin City, Edo State, and the completion of her National Youth Service program at the State Specialist Hospital in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
She has since been working in community pharmacy, currently serving as the Superintendent Pharmacist of GKS PHARMACY LTD. in Warri, Delta State.
In her professional journey, Faith Iriferi has encountered challenges related to the availability and misuse of medications in the community pharmacy environment. This led her to advocate for intensive patient education on topics such as reliable sources of medications, proper counseling (including non-drug interventions), first-line treatments for minor and chronic conditions, regular health checkups, and more. She actively incorporates these principles into her practice and health promotion efforts, such as medical outreach programs.
To further enhance her expertise, Faith Iriferi pursued the Point of Care Testing training at Global Masters Institute in collaboration with the Skill Development Council, Canada. The programme provided her with valuable insights into the use of essential diagnostic skills in providing evidence-based healthcare to patients. She is now better equipped to address her clients’ needs, deliver quality pharmaceutical care and public health promotional activities.
Dr. Faith Ogechi Iriferi expressed her satisfaction with the training, highlighting the intentional approach to the course and the informative training videos. Additionally, she received a Clinical Intelligence Textbook as an invaluable resource.
She was thrilled to discover that she had achieved the distinction of being the best graduating student. Dr. Faith Ogechi Iriferi attributes her success to divine grace and the support of her family.
Moreover, Faith Iriferi encourages her colleagues to strive for continuous learning, skill development, and a positive attitude. She emphasizes the importance of adapting to the evolving landscape of healthcare, particularly in the field of pharmaceutical care, which now demands more responsibilities from pharmacists. She believes that prompt and accurate diagnostic practices, such as point of care testing, can help drive policies that recognize the vital role of primary care in community pharmacies.
